Gwen’s Two-tti Fruity Birthday Party

We got to spend Gwen’s actual birthday while in Georgia with my parents.  Complete with the only flavor of cake that the hotel room service had available .. sans candle.  And then while my brother and sister were visiting us here in Florida we had the opportunity to celebrate with a party.  And by that I mean Stefan had the opportunity of donating his wages to Gwen’s second birthday party.  Holidays and birthday parties are my cocaine.  I love celebrating my babies.  And I also love party planning …  and food.  Did I mention I like to eat?

We decided to go with a fruit theme and call it a Two-tti Fruity party.  (In case you can’t decipher my clever theme, it’s like tooty fruity, ya know? Clever because of the two embedded in the word tooty) And who I am kidding with this “we” talk.  Stefan had no say in the matter.  Had he been in charge we would’ve celebrated at a Taco Bell with an order of some cinnamon twists and a Burger King crown.  To be honest, Gwen probably would’ve preferred his plan.  But, luckily for me, she is only 2 and has no say in the matter.  So who gets to make the choices on her behalf?  That’s right, this girl.

On the menu we had: fruity chicken salad sandwiches (only fruity because they were Waldorf chicken salad sandwiches), fruit parfaits, mango peach salsa and chips, watermelon on a stick and a delicious berry cheesecake salad.  Some would say I am a little OCD because I like to have all the food coordinate with the theme. … I would say that they are largely understating my condition.

I know all you want to do is look at the pictures so I will shut up now.  But before I zip my lips and throw away the key, I want to say thank you to all our friends and family who helped to make this day so special.  Gwen felt like a little princess. Elsa to be exact.  I’m touched to see the love our community has for our children.  Thank you all!

  4. There can be no rational reason why Abbott’s wife and daughter have suddenly appeared out of noxrtheEwacely – I mean, why aren’t they in the kitchen tending the fruit bowl? AND wearing shoes.I call shenanigans.
