A Valentine for my Veteran

If you know me, or if you’ve followed me for more than a week, you know that I’m obsessed with holidays.  And I would dare say obsessed is an understatement.  Some moms cry when they put away their children’s newborn clothes.  I cry when it’s no longer socially acceptable to have the Christmas decor out and the HOA comes knocking on my door telling me, “it’s time” and I HAVE to put it all away.  Then I unwillingly take to the tree with my bottle of wine Martinellis while listening to Nsync’s I Want You Back.  I start planning family Halloween costumes each year on November 1st.  And I usually always trade my garments for green shamrock panties on St. Patrick’s Day. No pinches for this girl.  I just love holidays so darn much.

In case you don’t share this love, and aren’t up to date, National Popcorn Day was a few days ago.  That’s a really important day for me guys.  And nobody even said “Happy National Popcorn Day Jamie!” to me this year. What is this world coming to?..

You’ll all have to redeem yourselves with the holiday in a few weeks.  No, I’m not talking about Susan B. Anthony’s Birthday on February 15th .. although I will be making a cake in her honor that day.  I’m talking about Valentine’s Day y’all!  It’s LOVE day!  And with love day comes presents! And I’ve been planning presents for my lover boy since December!

My hubby was in desperate need of a new watch.  The poor guy was using a twisty tie to hold down the excess part of the strap because he lost the little strap holder-downer (you know what I’m talking about?)  So he resorted to a bread bag twisty tie to jimmy rig the sun of a gun.  He’s so fancy.  So I thought I would surprise him with a new watch.  But I didn’t want just any old watch.  I wanted something unique and special that would stand out.

Jord watches were the ones that stood out to me.  I wanted a watch done right, and wouldn’t you know it, Men’s Journal named Jord’s watches as Wooden Watches Done Right.  Their designs are sleek and modern and I love the sustainability of a wood watch.  It’s so fun!  I went with their Frankie watch in Dark Sandalwood and Smoke.  The funnest part of this watch and my favorite feature is the engraving I had placed on the back.  I wanted something extra special for my Veteran!  Jord engraved the watch to say “For Time and For All Eternity”.  Pun definitely intended.  Sentimental “awww”s totally appreciated.  (;  I think that this additional feature makes a Jord watch a perfect gift for any veteran.  It’ll make this present the perfect item to treasure for years to come!

I got a little too excited about this a-little-too-perfect gift and spilt the beans a little early.  I just had to.  The suspense was killing me!  Stefan loves his new watch.  And I know he really loves it because this guy is the worst liar in the whole world.  Poor guy can’t even fart and get away with fibbing about it.  Something about not being able to contain that cute smile works as a fool-proof method of lie-detection.  So I can say with confidence, he definitely loves it.  And I’m especially patting myself on the back on this one because this guy is so darn hard to shop for!  I think he’s returned probably 63% of all the gifts I’ve ever bought him.  Those twisty-ties were an example of a gift-gone-right however.  Also patted myself on the back for that stocking stuffer.  Thumbs up.

Jord and I have teamed up to giveaway a $100 gift card to one lucky winner!  BUT, every person that enters will get a $25 coupon code to use at Jord watches!  So you’re basically throwing money away if you don’t enter.  And I don’t know about you, but I am not the kind of person that just throws money away.  Especially not $25 dollar .. (plus the chance of winning $100 so if you don’t enter you could potentially be throwing away $125 dollars!  If you don’t enter then WTH is wrong with you?!)  THEY HAVE WOMEN’S WATCHES TOO Y’ALL!!
