Pregnancy is always a happy time for me. But it can also be a stressful and painful time. Those of you who have followed along for a while can probably attest to this because it seems like all I do is complain š©. I have realllllly rough pregnancies which makes life pretty miserable. Donāt worry little (parasite) baby! I still love you and canāt wait to hold you! .. I just prefer you outside the womb.
On top of the nuisance of 24-hour sickness, thereās also the concern for mine and the babyās health and well-being. Throwing up 3+ times a day week after week has really taken a toll on my body. I’m still waiting to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight š
My #1 second trimester must-have is also the one thing I can do to ensure baby and I are getting the essential vitamins and minerals we need; my once-daily Nature Made Prenatal Multi + 200 mg DHA Vitamin that I picked up at Samās Club. I have always had a hard time with vitamins, but these easy-to-swallow softgels make this chore so much easier. These vitamins also provide 200 mg of DHA which may help support fetal brain and eye development ā . Did you know you should be taking prenatals 6 months before you start trying to conceive? I just learned that THIS time around. Adequate folic acid plays a critical role in the proper development of the babyās nervous systemā .
A few other must-haves Iāve discovered I need during this trimester are dry shampoo. I donāt have the time or energy to wash my hair every day. Once every 7 days is hard enough for this mama-to-be. Dry shampoo saves my life and helps me extend my hair and really push the limits on how long one should go in between washes.
Maternity leggings! Even though my belly may not be āout thereā, itās still very uncomfortable to have tight waistbands. All my pants have just about surpassed their buttoning potential. Even the rubber band trick makes me uncomfortable because then my pants are sliding down all day. Aināt nobody wanna see my plumberās crack š.
Belly butter is definitely a must. I have been lucky enough to make it through 2.5 pregnancies without any stretch marks and I have to attribute that to my hubby and his diligence in slathering cocoa butter all over my belly every. Single. Day. Good thing there is one responsible person in this relationship.
Dr. Pepper. Plain and simple. This goes beyond the second trimester. This is mostly just a life must-have. I canāt function without my daily dose of liquid goodness. But especially when I am pregnant and not getting the calories I need. A nice tall Dr. Pepper provides me with a little sugar and a little happiness.
Make-up remover wipes. These are a must. I am too lazy to remove my makeup when I am not growing a human being so you can imagine how poor my facial hygiene is while Iām pregnant. If I at least have a pack of these on my nightstand I can at least make sure I take off (some of) my make up before I hit the hay. Not to mention it preserves the life span of my white pillow covers.
Donāt forget to pick up your Nature Made Prenatal Multi + 200 mg DHA vitamins from Samās Club for before, during and after pregnancy!
