We are a military family. But you already know that. Unless you’re new here, in which case, Hi! Welcome to the circus! I’m Jamie and most of the time, I have no idea what I’m doing.
But back to military life, (which is just one of the acts in this three-ring-circus). Military life comes with a lot of ups and downs. One of the peaks, (and simultaneously one of the valleys) of it all is traveling. We often live far from our families. And even when we live close(r), it seems like we end up being the ones that travel to see them … 😏😏 I’m looking at you family …
Traveling comes with its own set of challenges. But add in an OCONUS assignment (That stands for Outside the Continental United States for my non-military friends) children, and a husband gone and those challenges are really exacerbated.
3 kids. 8 bags. 12 hour flight. 24 full hours of travel. Challenges sincerely exacerbated.
As you may already know, we are a mostly screen-free family. Aside from family movie nights, and educational videos here and there, we try to stick to no TV. (That is a whole post in itself.) But when we are traveling, that goes out the window. Survival mode engaged.
We still encourage a lot of audiobooks and puzzles and snacks and games. But after hour 4 on an airplane, a movie can go a long way.
Rug-Ed recently came out with some new models and I’m really loving the Buddy 10 for the girls’ iPad. It has a really nifty 360 degree swivel ring that acts as a stand in both portrait and landscape mode, and also a handle for carrying. It also has a tempered glass screen protector. The soft foam feature is great for the littles and the colors are fun (which if you are a mom, you know is always a win with kids!)
We’ve always trusted Rug-ed and they’ve never let us down! If you are the proud owner of an iPad and also the proud owner of offspring, you need Rug-ed to protect your investment ladies and gentlemen! Click here to get 10% off your order!
